Chimney Reconstruction

Chimney Reconstruction
Example of an ML Best masonry job to re-build a chimney.

ML Best provides professional masonry services to re-build chimneys that are in disrepair or damaged by weather.

Very often the symptoms of a chimney in distress become visible: cracking, water leaks, missing bricks and structural vulnerabilities. These indicators are the result of element exposure, usage and time—but if left unattended, can become a danger to your family and neighbors.

The most common reconstruction is called “Flashing Up,” which means substantial mortar and/or brick deterioration has taken place. In this case, the structure is torn down to the flashing area near the roof line, and then the chimney is reconstructed from the “flashing up.”
